Science Expo 2016

My science expo experiment was very simple. I was basically observing if water could float on other water. Good news, it can as long as part of the water has a higher density. This experiment was not my first one though, my first one was how things biodegrade but I underestimated the time limit and had to change it at the last minute. I had a panicky moment then. Luckily the site I got the first experiment from also had other options available. I chose can water float on water simply because it looked simple, easy and interesting.

I worked on this experiment with Nobody which is me saying I worked on my own. I don't really like group work as a whole, maybe if I go with one of my close friends for a project that will on,y take a hour or two but not for something as big as the science expo. I think by working on my own I got things done a lot quicker.

When I was testing the experiment I had a bit of a embarrassing moment when I didn't read what the website said and thought you only had to but 250ml of water into each bottle. Turns out you need to put 500ml in each bottle. Whoops, muy bad. My experiment worked a lot better when I filled each bottle up with 500ml worth of water.

I REALLY enjoyed making my poster but I do regret not taking a pillow with me because my knees have NEVER been the same since... I think I emotionally scarred them.


The judge was really nice and I think he understood my experiment quicker then other people.

I was really nervous about the science expo because I didn't feel prepared but now that I've done it I feel I actually did know it. My science expo went quite well when I figured out I should shorten it to keep people's attention.

The Spot Shaped Like A Hat

On, the 18 of May, I spilled some grape juice on my parents mat.

It was a white and black mat. But now there was a spot on it in the shape of a hat.

I tried to clean it up! I really did... But then that didn't work, so I moved my toy Tigger and put it over the stain. It started to rain. The rain made the spot grow and glow. I tried to stop, it didn't work. But the spot just grew and grew, if it got any bigger it wouldn't fit under my toy Tigger!

Wing Woman

Every year in the second term the grade sixes spend the term making stop-motions about super heroes/villains. We do this so that we can learn to use stop-motion, follow instructions and manage our time. We created our character ,Wing Women, because it seemed like a cool idea to make a character that could fly. If I could make Wing women again I would probably make her eyes the same size just because that has been annoying me a lot, I would make her legs stick on her better because they keep on falling off and I would position her wings better so that it would help support her when she's standing because she keeps falling over. My favorite part of the project was probably filming and I didn't really like making the character. Here is a picture of Wing Woman and some information about her.

100 Words To Describe A Chip Packet

I look at the chip packet on the floor and as I look at it I notice details I don't normally pay attention to. For example the chip packet had a spot in the middle where you would normally be able to see the chips... It was empty. On the back of the packet was a  sweet picture of a squirrel running down rows of nuts... The chips where nut flavored. Underneath the picture of the squirrel was the motto of the company that made the chips "Together with chips we will lie and fly." The chips where not successful.

Setting Good Goals

Hello reader/s in LS we have recently learned about setting goals so I will be telling you a bit about them...                                              

GOALS

Why Is Setting Goals So Important?!

Well for one thing goals help motivate us to do things. They can also help us make pre-goals (Which are goals we set to help achieve another goal). Its hard to achieve things without setting them and most people do it without thinking.    

What Are Smart Goal?!

To set a smart goal you need to make sure it is has six things...

Being SPECIFIC 

Being REALISTIC

Being TIMELY

Make It ATTAINABLE 

Make It MEASURABLE 

Make It REVIEWABLE

How Are You Specific?!

If you want to set a goal don't say, for example do better in tests. Rather say get 80% in all my tests.

How Are You Realistic?!

Don't set yourself impossible goals.

How Are You Timely?!

Its a good idea to give your goal a time frame like 3 Months or 20 Years or something like that.

How Do You Make It Attainable?!

Figure out ways to help make it possible. Learn skills to help you make it possible.

How Do You Make It Reviewable?!

Set  yourself a goal that it is possible to look back on and measure progress.

How Do You Make It Measurable?!

Make sure you measure your goals progress, so how much closer are you to achieving that goal.

Hi I'm Tiffany Smith and I'm your typical nonsense teen, at least I was until I opened that door. The front door of my house to be exact. So here's what happened. I was at home and my parents were at work and I heard the doorbell ring. I went to go and see who it was that was ringing the doorbell because I wasn't expecting anybody. Anyway when the door opened and there it by it I mean I saw I saw the strangest looking boy, he had bright ginger hair and was wearing clothes that looked like they belonged in wonderland and Oz.
